Disney's 'Old Yeller' Star Tommy Kirk Dead at 79
Tommy Kirk -- greatest identified for enjoying the child position of Travis Coates within the 1957 Disney basic "Outdated Yeller" -- has died ... TMZ has discovered.
Legislation enforcement sources inform TMZ ... Tommy's neighbor discovered him useless in his Las Vegas residence around 8 PM on Tuesday. No foul play is suspected.
Tommy was an adolescent when he acquired his huge break in "Outdated Yeller" ... the story of a few boys and his heroic canine. He was Disney's go-to child actor to fill that All-American persona ... resulting in roles in different Disney movies, together with "The Shaggy Canine, "Swiss Household Robinson" and "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones."
He was found in 1954 as a 13-year-old whereas performing reverse Will Rogers Jr. for the play "Ah, Wilderness!" on the Pasadena Playhouse. Legend has it, Tommy had auditioned for a task no one else bothered to audition for, so he acquired it. He had solely 5 strains within the play nevertheless it was sufficient for an expert agent to signal him and forged him in an episode of "TV Reader's Digest."
Tommy finally ended up getting forged in "The Mickey Mouse Membership" ... and appeared in several different TV reveals. However, there is not any doubt his position in "Outdated Yeller" shot him to stardom.
