Jay Black Dead, Jay And The Americans Frontman Dead at 82

Jay Black, who fronted the '60s hit group Jay and the Individuals, has died.

Jay sang some massive hits for the group ... the most important of which was "This Magic Second."

The band posted the loss of life discover on its Fb web page ... “In the present day, we mourn the passing of David Blatt a/ok/a Jay Black and we acknowledge the good successes we had with him each as a companion and as a lead singer,” a spokesperson wrote. “We shared each great and really contentious instances, and very similar to an ex-wife, we're so pleased with the gorgeous kids we created. We’ll all the time bear in mind The Voice.”

The group was massive when England took over American music ... in case you did not catch it, Jay and the Individuals are Individuals.

They have been sufficiently big to open for The Beatles in 1964 at their Washington D.C. live performance.

Among the many different hits ... "Come a Little Bit Nearer," "Blockbusters," "Cara Mia," and "Walkin' within the Rain."

Jay and the Individuals was on the peak of its output within the Sixties, formally disbanding in 1973.
